Barrett Technology, originating from the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), is internationally recognized for its distinctive CableGlide™ robotic technology and advanced human–robot interaction capabilities. Its iconic WAM® robotic arm was recognized by Guinness World Records and has been described as one of the world’s most advanced robotic manipulators. Barrett’s core patented technologies have also been licensed to leading surgical robotics companies such as MAKO. In collaboration with the University of Washington, Barrett also participated in the development of the HERB service robot in 2016.

As another division under the Estun brand, Estun Medical focuses on exploring 'robots + healthcare' and 'robots + wellness.' The company has gradually been building a three-tier business system covering 'treatment (surgery) + rehab + wellness care'. ESTUN Medical's Nanjing operation leverages Barrett’s proprietary cable-driven and teleoperation technologies to develop core components for medical robots and intelligent rehabilitation robotics. Its Beijing operation focuses on surgical robotics based on independently developed high-end CableGlide™ robotic arms, with orthopedic surgery as its initial area of focus. The Changzhou operation develops high-value medical consumables, general medical consumables, precision components, and related products that complement and support the businesses of the Nanjing and Beijing operations.
